BLR - The big extension

Morning all,

With the new BLR layout, I've finally decided to start work on extending the line so that it gives engines running over the route a long run.

Currently, the line looks like this:-

The current plan is to extend the running line in 2 phases. Phase 1 is the cheaper of the 2 being the simplest to install by simply lengthing the route available. Phase 1 should increase the lenght of the running line by a total of 16ft for minimal outlay.

However, if I'm to have any hope of holding a garden railway steamup or running session with like minded people, the line needs more siding space which is catered for in Phase 2. Adding a total of 4 extra sidings including a cool down bay for live steam engines, hopefully the extra space will allow for trains to run while others are being set up or resting inbetween runs.

Comments on the plans would be appriated especially the Phase 2 plan as I have a fear that it might not work very well.
