Steam Engines - Further Progress

Hi All,

Some major progress locomotive wise with work being done on Meridden Emrys, Mountaineer, Lyd and my FFestiniog Esque Haig Tender conversion.

Apart from the missing smokebox, ME is close to completion and adding of the Lined Maroon Paint job. All I need to do is get another GP50 chassis and start work on making a second Fairlie chassis to give ME its own.

Also, new accidental arrival Mountaineer's been painted into its current Black scheme and awaits lining and nameplates.

Lyd is pretty much the same as Mountaineer state wise except the addition of detailing to various parts on the body (painted gold).

And the odd one out, My Haig Tender conversion now named 'Blaencwm' is awaiting Nameplates but is otherwise finished.

Lyd and Joffre

Small update on progress on Lyd. Now awaiting painting and decals. However, the end is rather.........tail happy. See below

Lyd including rubber support

Any ideas how to fix that?

On a different note, while looking at the Joffre I got second hand, the cab back fell off and in my haste, I managed to leave it end on end with a spare FR tender I got for Linda. On closer inspection, I think it looks good. Comments on this would be greatly appriated.

New Arrivals/FR. 17 Completion

At the Sussex 009 Modellers day (see separate post), I did get one or two little things. Such as:

7 Lovely V Skips

2 WW1 Bogie Trucks

FR Bug Box No.5 in the current 1870s Scheme

However, I did manage to pick up this little beauty as well and I can happily say, until Lyd's finished, She's the new pride of my little line. Seen here next to my latest item of rolling stock to be completed.

Ffestiniog Railway No.14 'David Lloyd George' coupled to my newly completed FR.17

DLG needs some minor detail ajustments to it but she runs beautifully. Much unlike my Meridden Emrys will ever do.

Comments as always welcome,

Jon
