Doveston gains a Scenebreak

Another update tonight this time for Doveston. The layout has now gained a scenebreak separating the 'work' area and the future scenic area.

Conway Castle

Afternoon all,

Today, I've been working on the 2nd of the 3 FR/WHR Passenger Engines I'm planning to have on the layout, Conway Castle. Its based on the ex Chivers Finelines kit but, its running on a Bandai Chassis instead of the recommended Ibertern chassis.

All my 009 Stock

Once every so often, I like to get all my stock out to check on it's condition/if it still works or not and after doing that for my 009 stock, I decided to take photos of it all. There's quite a bit for the two small layouts and one longer run that I have in my pocession. I need to get rid of some of it I think...

After recieving a recent delivery of more Nameplates from Narrow Planet, a number of my engines have finally been able to be completed.

Doveston Reborn - The Narrow gauge is down

After a trip to the local modelshop, I've finally been able to purchase the 009 track needed to complete Doveston's rebuild track wise. It doesn't look like much at first but when measured, its twice the running line of Blaencwm and unlike Blaencwm, the line is capable of running 4 FR coaches and a double fairlie with ease compared to Blaencwm's 1 engine and 1 coach limit.

Also, several new OO gauge sidings have been added to increase the amount of storage space for engines and rolling stock.

It seems that Doveston is turning into a test layout more than a layout that can be sceniced. That said, based on the aerial photographs a part scenic part workbench type of layout does still seem to be possible.

Haig - Retendered

After sometime of looking, I've finally managed to aquire an alternative tender for my Haig. The main reason behind it being the haig's old tender wieghed a fair bit which the motor in the Haig just couldn't handle as well as a train of any lenght. The new tender is a lot lighter and suits the engine as well. The main difference being its from a Roco tender engine rather than being from a Parkside Dundas Blanche kit.

All that remains is lining out into the Red/Green livery of the Haig and then its done.

Doveston Reborn

Today after getting fed up of constantly looking at my OO layout gaining more and more dust, I finally dug it out, stripped all the wiring from it and started work on relaying the track to give a continuous run and to give room to fit an single line lenght of 009. This should hopefully give my FR stock a longer run allowing longer trains and should give me a place to test all my OO stock easily.
